Welcome to one more review from Mystery Bay of the series Top 10 Horror Games!
Today we are going to talk about one of my favorite themed Horror games,
A Touch of Evil takes place in a small village in England in the late 19th century.
Mysterious deaths, so-called strange creatures in the fields, eerie screams from the old forest but also a headless ghost that wanders the streets of Shadowbrook at night ...
But the hope was not lost yet, as a team of courageous researchers headed from the city to solve these mysteries !!
In A Touch of Evil each player takes on the role of one of the explorers who each have their own abilities but also weaknesses and you start your search in the village trying to solve the mystery and defeat the enemy.
It will be the bloodthirsty Vampire, the wild Werewolf,
maybe the spooky Scarecrow or the cursed Headless Horseman ???
At your disposal are still the 6 Elders who are the pillars of the Shadowbrook society ... But are you sure they are on your side?
Are they telling the truth or are they hiding secrets ???
In any case, you have to hurry! Because the darkness and the influence of evil is growing on Shadow Track. As long as you spend your time unnecessarily you lose ground!
Throughout the game you will be confronted with the minions of evil as well as other kinds of obstacles and traps but also the lies of the Elders who will try to do everything to get you out of the way !!
You play the game either cooperatively or competitively and there are some small changes for each mode.
In the end, after learning the final limer of the creature, you are invited to take an Elder with you.
(Choose correctly as if he is bad he will go with the creature and you will have to face them both!) And start a final battle (Showdown) for the fate of Shadowbrook!
The game is quite enjoyable as it keeps you in suspense all the time having to do a lot of things: to buy items and equipment, to learn what secret every Elder hides, to be healed from werewolf until you find the lair of evil until and to fight his minions who will appear every now and then ...
!!
With an excellent 10 we put it 9. The rules are easy and rulebook understandable. The materials are very good and the artwork of the map is unique.
The only thing that might push some people to buy it or even play it might be the artwork on the box or the cards,
although the whole idea was the people of the company that created A Touch of Evil to wear costumes and be photographed for this purpose, something we find quite innovative and interesting though!
Even the expansions (A Touch of Evil - Something Wicked and A Touch of Evil - The Coast) take the game to the next level as they give extra board maps, heroes, enemies, cards and much more!
And finally it is one of the few games that in the box contains a CD with soundtracks for the game !!
We hope we helped you get an idea for the game and we highly recommend it!
See you in the next horror review until then beware the Touch of Evil ... Muhahaha!
